Description:
Hossein Pakdaman (born January 27, 1960) is an Iranian writer, playwright, presenter, producer, former director of the state television network, and a film director and actor. From 1987 to 1994, he served as the director of Channel One at IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting). He also managed the 10th and 11th editions of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth. Additionally, he held the position of the theater director for a period. Originally, it was planned for Hossein Pakdaman, a high-ranking official and former presenter at IRIB, to host the closing ceremony of the 32nd Fajr Film Festival, similar to previous years. However, due to a temporary broadcasting ban on his image on television, he withdrew from the role, and Mohammad Reza Shahidi-Fard took over the program. The removal of images and the name of "Hossein Pakdaman," a renowned Iranian artist, from the teasers or promotional announcements of the film "Paper House" on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting was met with objections from some Iranian filmmakers. In an interview on January 6, 2018, Parviz Parastui thoroughly explained this matter during a live program with Fereydoun Jirani, shedding light on the reasons behind the temporary broadcasting ban. Nevertheless, despite the ban, Pakdaman returned to television in 2019, starring in two TV series: "Forgotten Memories" and "Destiny's Tale," signaling the end of the broadcasting restriction on Pakdaman.
