Description: Baran Kowsari was born on October 16, 1985, in Tehran. She is the daughter of Rakhshan Bani-Etemad (a film director) and Jahanigir Kowsari (a film producer and football expert). She pursued her education in theater at Soreh Art High School. Her acting career began with "The Best Daddy in the World" (2001), directed by Dariush Farhang. Until 2001, her roles were limited to films directed by her mother. Kowsari also showcased her talent in theater with "The Other Side of the Mirror," directed by Azita Hajian (1997). In 2002, she served as a jury member in the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Isfahan. In 2006, Baran Kowsari was selected by the readers of the weekly magazine Chelcheragh to receive the Popularity Award. She later received the Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 25th Fajr International Film Festival for her performances in "Blood Trap" and "The Third Day." In 2007, Kowsari was nominated for Best Actress at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards for her role in "Blood Trap." In the 27th Fajr Film Festival in 2008, she was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in "Confusion." At the 12th House of Cinema Awards in 2008, Baran Kowsari, along with her father, presented the Best Supporting Actor award to Babak Hamidian. In the 14th House of Cinema Awards in 2010, the Best Actress in a Leading Role trophy was awarded to both Baran Kowsari and Hamed Behdad for their roles in "Confusion." In the 30th Fajr Film Festival in 2012, Kowsari was nominated for Best Actress in the New Look section for her role in "Grief."
